A new Animoto Online and Social Video Marketing study found that “video is no longer optional for brands and businesses looking to market to Millennials.”

2015 was a big year for Millennials – they’ve officially surpassed the Baby Boomers in number and now have the most spending power of any consumer demographic. If you want to tap into their needs, you need to meet them on their level – and that means engaging them on social media, and through their mobile devices.

The Animoto study had some pretty interesting findings:

  • 74% of Millennials find video helpful when comparison shopping
  • 7 in 10 Millennials are likely to watch a company video when shopping online
  • Milennials were found to be 264% more likely to share videos about a product, service, or company while shopping online than baby boomers.
  • 48% of Millennials only watch videos on their mobile device

With more and more media content being watched on mobile devices, it's more important than ever for companies to join the video revolution taking the Millennial generation by storm.
